My artistic work consists of different fields. I work with stoneware and porcelain, functional ware on the potters wheel, combining clayparts with found objects. In my non-functional artwork I use drawing to give unloved, old plates a new life by painting a realistic collage-like style, and give them a quirky, new expression. I also take drawings from my sketchbook - the result of many visits to the Natural Historic Museum in Bergen - and apply them onto the wheelthrown vessels.

Making porcelain slides for guitarists gives me the opportunity to combine my skills as a ceramic artist with my love for music, also as guitar player in my sparetime. Every slide is individually thrown on the potters wheel with Limoge Porcelain, France. The slides are hand-decorated. The dense, high fired porcelain from Limoges gives a clear, warm tone, with a long sustain, quite different to glass and metal.

Before receiving a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics, I absolved a traditional apprenticeship in South Germany to become a journey woman. I divide my time between my workshop at Isotop in Bergen and my hometown Köln/Cologne, Germany.
